According to the vision of EBMES  and in continuation of its collective mission in spreading awareness and promoting the role of Biomedical engineer in the field of health care.
Members and representatives of EBMES were honored to attend the Second Africa Health Excon conference under the auspices and organization of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurment ,Medical Supply, and the Managment of Medical Technology.
The participation extended to organizing a workshop within the activities of the conference under the title of medical engineering in the field of health care.
The lecturers, along with the large audience of engineers and representatives of various health care sectors, praised and emphasized on the importance of the role of biomedical engineering within the system to improve health care in Egypt and Africa.

Dr. Adham Rashad Ismail

Dr. Ismail has been appointed as the WHO Representative and Head of Mission in Saudi Arabia starting January 2023. Previously, he held the same role in Yemen, one of the largest WHO operations globally, for two years, and in Iraq for two and a half years. Before his tenure in Iraq, Dr. Ismail led the "Essential Medicines and Health Technologies" team at the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office in Cairo for 13 year. Before joining WHO, Dr. Ismail was a professor at various academic institutions in Egypt and the USA. He has over 20 years of experience in public health and biomedical engineering. Dr. Ismail holds three Master's degrees in Public Health (University of Roehampton, UK), Biomedical Engineering (Alexandria University, Egypt), and Business Administration (Arab Academy for Science and Technology). He also has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami, USA.
