The kick-off point as we gather healthcare leaders and biomedical engineers including: clinical engineers, medical equipment planners, service engineers and sales engineers working in healthcare industry from national and international corporations and companies, institutions and hospitals, collaborated all together in that memorable event to launch Egyptian Bio-Medical Engineering Society, by sharing their outstanding experiences to analyze and solve the existing problems facing the healthcare industry, exchanging professional outlooks of major practices with the latest technologies and trends used in patient care quality and medical equipment management.

These efforts were represented as a base for a community aiming to reach the global standards in patients care and safety in healthcare industry in Egypt, Africa, and The Middle East, and to assure that biomedical engineering in not only playing a vital role in huge fields but also, it is a major and powerful field itself.

Clinical Engineering Panelists impressively explained how clinical engineer profession a critical position can be. All together discussed the huge effects a clinical engineer's decisions hold, taking the lead to explain professional management criteria aim to improve patient care quality.

 

Medical Planning Panel Discussion “One Profession Mirrors Many Aspects”

Requiring an understand of clinical needs, financial portions, architectural design, and building process. Panelists discussed detailed preparations and schedules needed to equip healthcare centers, balancing among patient quality of care, project build up plan, and budget.

Utilizing constantly evolving technologies in a functionable way to enhance healthcare quality was the main point of this discussion. Dr. Adham Rashad Ismail

Dr. Ismail has been appointed as the WHO Representative and Head of Mission in Saudi Arabia starting January 2023. Previously, he held the same role in Yemen, one of the largest WHO operations globally, for two years, and in Iraq for two and a half years. Before his tenure in Iraq, Dr. Ismail led the "Essential Medicines and Health Technologies" team at the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office in Cairo for 13 year. Before joining WHO, Dr. Ismail was a professor at various academic institutions in Egypt and the USA. He has over 20 years of experience in public health and biomedical engineering. Dr. Ismail holds three Master's degrees in Public Health (University of Roehampton, UK), Biomedical Engineering (Alexandria University, Egypt), and Business Administration (Arab Academy for Science and Technology). He also has a PhD in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami, USA.
